Card Highlight - Replenishment

Hello Realm Runners and welcome another Card Highlight!

Looking way back on the realm of Salum, there’s one card I feel very much flew under the radar for a lit of people, myself included, and that’s Replenishment.

To fully explain the value this card represents we’ll dig into what cards are ‘Supplies’ or ‘Resources’ but, much like the Realm Runes and Character Reveal cards, it’s possible to turn the supposed randomness of this ability into a consistency boost that will effectively Find the card you need for your Palette’s strategy to work which should result in a better win ratio on the competitive scene. So let’s now look at the two types of cards this ability can Reveal.

The above cards are all ‘Supply’ cards that Replenishment can Reveal. The most notable one by far is Alchemist’s Tincture; it has a small gain to give you some shards back and its Dispose ability can be incredibly powerful, especially given that it’s one of the few ways of triggering something like Corrupted Muon Trap or a Fireball (off of a Cintimani Stone) during the opponent’s turn to act as an unexpected interruption. That being said the others have their uses, albeit more niche than this.

Here are the better of the Resource cards that can be Revealed. Restock and Rune Stones both allowing you to go further into your Palette sooner, adding to the deck thinning potential or allowing you to Trade without losing any major advantage. Abundance of Quintessence is an essential card from Curdle Hill to give you strong gain and HAIM Shard Cache means you have a strong Trade card that has the ability to sneak in Achrom wins out of nowhere. Arabella’s Recipe, which I’ve taken a look into in a previous article, is both a good resource control card and a potential win-con with the right setup that’s cheap to deploy; it’s the main reason I try to find space for Replenishment in my Occultist Control Palette.

This is only a quick dive into what cards Replenishment can get you too quicker. Given it only costs two shards to deploy its not the worst idea to have it in there to find one type of card, either the ‘Supply’ or the ‘Resource’, whilst the other card allows you to Trade or gain the shards back so it doesn’t impact your resources too much. Also, to add to its flexibility, the fact its an Action means you can use it ahead of either of your Draw or Trade steps so you can see what you get before deciding what you need to do.

As I said at the beginning, this is a card that’s taken some time to come into the limelight with me despite the fact it was released in the Rise of the Realmrunners expansions, specifically Phisto and Harutos’ expansions, and it’ll be one of those cards that only improves with each subsequent release of Salum support too.

That's all from me for now guys!
