A First Look - Monsters of Norso

 Hello and welcome realmrunners! As we’re now well into sneak peek season for the up and coming Monsters of Norso the content creators of the community are starting to get our own individual cards to look over. So here’s the first piece I have - just some artwork to get us started off; The Minotaur’s Domain.


Along with the artwork I’ve got the following little bit of lore to go with it - “The Minotaur resides here when he isn't out wandering the labyrinth.” 

So what we know for sure is that it’s a Location that directly relates to ‘The Minotaur’ whom I suspect features in the set’s cover art.

First impression I get from this art is that it’s very dark and misty, so most likely Achrom-leaning if not fully Achrom. It’s also giving me a very similar sort of feel to cards like Murky Manor or Throne Room from the other realms; a very foreboding and shadowy building that’s most likely to be related to a very dark Character.

With this similarity in mind I’m getting the feeling it’s going to be a Heroic Location, given that it refers to ‘The Minotaur’ as a main Character of sorts, and is probably one of the Rares, or possibly even a Legendary card, from the set. Similarly to how the previously mentioned cards relate to the Achrom leaders of their sets, Countess Issadora Curdle and King Craven Traitorius.

Without knowing what ‘The Minotaur’ does it’s hard to take more than a wild guess at what this Location could do. Given that it’s a residence of some sort maybe it provides Protection or gives you the ability to Dig or Reveal in some way? Outside of this it could be totally different and further support what ‘The Minotaur’ does or perhaps its a Keyword focused card that relates to what the Achrom faction wants to do? 

One thing’s for sure - we’re certainly in a very different world to the caverns around Wishwell Lake that were home to the Brisgavi and Lacringi tribes from before!

Competitive Talk - Palette Archetypes

Hello realm runners and welcome! It’s been a hot minute since I did any competitive-based articles; since before the last GT actually, so thought it was about time to revisit them. As Achroma’s card-pool expands we start to see palettes across every realm that have similar playstyles or gameplans in how they are going to hit 30 shards or drain their opponents down to 0. For anyone already involved in the competitive scene of card gaming this topic is already a known thing; Archetypes . Generally speaking, when it comes to most card games, there are three main branches of  Archetypes; Aggro , Combo  &  Control .
