Keyword Highlight - Sacrifice

Hello Realm Runners and welcome! This week on my Keyword Highlight series I thought I’d take a deeper look at a lesser used one from Chapter 1 of Draco, Sacrifice . So let’s get right into it. Seems simple enough right? Although you’ll probably be asking yourself…. but why would that be a thing? What isn’t obvious from the website’s definition is that this is effectively added as a further cost to certain cards, currently all actions, to use the ability of them. Some examples, found in the Stone Waste Drakes palette, can be found below. These abilities can be very powerful, albeit some are better used in games of 3 or more players as they become stronger the more opponents you have. Tactically speaking, since all Sacrifice cards are currently actions, the way to get the most value out of them is to wait until after your Resolve step to deploy them; this means all your cards get to use their effects before being erased.
