Hello and good day realmrunners - welcome to another article on one of my custom Palettes.
Today I’m bringing you one that’s not optimised as such but I wanted to take a shot at giving some light to a card that sees incredibly little play despite having some real potential; Awaken the Guardians. So without further ado here’s the list.
The main aim of the deck is to put down a high number of locations, steadily ramping its gain thats generally harder to remove, then slap down
Awaken the Guardians (or to a lesser extent
Spiral Traitorius) to gain the last chunk of shards needed to win the game. So lets break down the individual cards.
Spirata Scrapyard - A versatile Legendary that can gain you shards, draw you cards or even Erase cards in a pinch.
Cordyceps - Real nuisance in the right situations, if your opponent relies on big Characters this can stall them out quite well if its down before them.
Spiral Traitorius - In here as a source of gain, if somehow you start to hold a few Characters up though you can always use his drain to pull your opponent down a bit.
Nocturno/Invasive Parasite - Parasites to interrupt your opponent’s plans that both have their own niches too, Nocturno blocking Trading while Invasive Parasite can also hit Locations.
Scrapyard Fountain - Although highly costed it can be a repeatable source of card draw, if your gain can keep up with the cost. Can double as strong Trade fodder too.
Blueprint Swirl - Strong gaining Location especially there is a decent variety of colours.
Scrapyard Barrens/The Fall of Flutterby/The Secrets of Spirata - All 4 costed for trading that steal shards. Scrapyard Barrens also doubles as an attack stopper if you’ve Infested your opponents cards.
Lava Fountain/Water Fountain - Cost reducing Locations for the more common colours in the Palette.
Awaken the Guardians - Generally wins the game the turn its played. Also nice big 6 Trade value if it’s just not happening.
Advance Scouting Party - Draw power that is consistently very cheap.
HAIM Shard Cache - Strong Trade card that can sneak in surprise Achrom wins.
Revenge of the Lost - Allows you to recycle any of your parasites, including Cordyceps.
Unfathomable Hunger - Versatile removal that can hit multiple cards if you are holding a parasite.
Full Palette - Strong gain Action.
Some other options for cards you can play if you so wish are:
Guardians of Flutterby Falls - Higher costing plus it has all colours on it for Blueprint Swirl. If you want to focus more on your Characters this can be a great way to Defend them also.
Wincey Rustwhether - Draw power that gains more when you have more Locations out so can synergise well.
Imp - Cheap draw power on a Character with a touch of drain if you need it too.
Splat Square - If you plan to have more Characters on your Canvas this scales quickly. Also more draw power is never a bad thing.
Giant Prism - Gives you a way of completely clearing any Achrom Characters out. Also provides you with great Trade fodder.
