Card Highlight - Lacringi Catapult

 Hello and welcome to you realmrunners!

Back with another Card Highlight and this time, thinking ahead to the next set to expect, I thought I’d go through all the Norso cards we currently have at our disposal and thought there’s one particular one that I don’t think gets enough exposure for how powerful it can be; Lacringi Catapult.

At face value it already seems quite an impactful card; the Action on it allows it to either Erase cards with smaller values, whether they’re Characters, Locations or Objects; finish off damaged Characters from combat that happened earlier in the turn; or weaken stronger Characters so your weaker ones can take them out.

But to take this a step further, The Warriors of Wishwell set has in it a whole host of Object support that include Shard Value reduction as well as cards that can Find & Dig them. On top of this it’s quite easy to Find & Dig those cards too so you can have a proper synergistic package in your Palette that enables you to grab Lacringi Catapult, or any other Objects for that matter, as soon as possible and get it back to re-play it whenever you need to.


 In terms of cards the Action can one-shot there’s the host of Poisonous Characters which immediately spring to mind as potential targets for this, although it’s worth noting that, due to the 2 Shard Value of Lacringi Catapult itself, if you deploy it onto a Character that’s able to attack that turn it can take the hit from a standard Poisonous Character without the attached Character taking any damage from the combat.


 Outside of this there’s several powerful cards from every realm that Lacringi Catapult can make short work of that, for me, always make it worth trying to fit into your Norso Palettes. Especially as this gives you some effective Location removal for some that can become quite problematic if you can’t otherwise Erase them.


As previously mentioned, this is all on-top of the fact that you can use Lacringi Catapult to inflict enough damage to make it easier to Erase stronger Characters as well so it makes a fantastic and flexible form of removal. Along with the fact there’s already a decent amount of support to Dig & redeploy it as well if needed to add to that and the more times you can play it in a game, the more you’ll see how powerful such a seemingly simple Action is.

You’ll find Lacringi Catapult in any of the Lacringi faction sets or grab yourself the entire of the Warriors of Wishwell, including the accompanying Realm Runner expansions a playmat and a copy of HAIM Shard Cache, by getting the Deluxe Realm Box.

A First Look - Monsters of Norso

 Hello and welcome realmrunners! As we’re now well into sneak peek season for the up and coming Monsters of Norso the content creators of the community are starting to get our own individual cards to look over. So here’s the first piece I have - just some artwork to get us started off; The Minotaur’s Domain . Along with the artwork I’ve got the following little bit of lore to go with it - “The Minotaur resides here when he isn't out wandering the labyrinth.”  So what we know for sure is that it’s a Location that directly relates to ‘The Minotaur’ whom I suspect features in the set’s cover art. First impression I get from this art is that it’s very dark and misty, so most likely Achrom-leaning if not fully Achrom. It’s also giving me a very similar sort of feel to cards like Murky Manor  or Throne Room from the other realms; a very foreboding and shadowy building that’s most likely to be related to a very dark Character. Competitive Talk - Palette Archetypes

Hello realm runners and welcome! It’s been a hot minute since I did any competitive-based articles; since before the last GT actually, so thought it was about time to revisit them. As Achroma’s card-pool expands we start to see palettes across every realm that have similar playstyles or gameplans in how they are going to hit 30 shards or drain their opponents down to 0. For anyone already involved in the competitive scene of card gaming this topic is already a known thing; Archetypes .
