Well it's certainly been a long wait for this one but here we finally are, with the final Chronicle of the series of second Chapters and our return to Norso; The Monsters of Norso! Just a quick refresher before I fully dive into it, as it has been a fair amount of time since my last ones; what I do with these Chapter Analysis articles is look at the set itself in a vacuum, highlight cards that fit into categories that are recognisable to an experienced TCG player and then round it off by saying which side of the conflict I feel comes out on top when taking this set into account.  Hello realmrunners, it’s time to finally take a dive into my first custom Palette from The Monsters of Norso! I thought I’d start with the one that is quickly proving to be the one I’m most looking forward to thoroughly testing out. Although it is definitely one that’s mainly Achrom-leaning it has the potential to throw in some surprising Chroma wins in some situations. So let’s jump right in; here’s the full list. The main idea of the Palette is to try and gradually set up a growing Resolve, mainly utilising steal, with cards that can all take the drain from The Abyss . Whilst this is happening there’s a fair amount of Find and a bit of extra Trade  abilities that thin out what's left to try and get to Detestatio, the Chimera specifically as this turns very much into a-board-in-a-can when you have  The Abyss  on your Canvas and Cerberus is in your Dregs.  Welcome, once again, realmrunners to another breakdown of one of the new Keywords that’s coming from The Monsters Norso. Today we’re hitting up the Achrom-aligned faction’s one; the very sinisterly named Vengeance . Here’s the definition: Now here’s a real interesting Keyword so let’s break it down. Any way that the card can have shards drained, and survive, will cause the ability to trigger. So instantly attacking into an opponent’s Characters will trigger this, which I’d imagine is the going to be the most common method that it’ll be done. The fact it can then be triggered multiple times means, if you can somehow do multiple amounts of damage in small increments, you’ll get some fantastic value out of it. Further to this, it being able to trigger in your opponent’s turn basically means whacking into any Character you have, that has a  Vengeance  ability, with smaller ones will just trigger their abilities; meaning the only way to safely deal with them is in one big hit...

Before I start to dive in to my custom Palette ideas from all the new cards that came our way in The Monsters of Norso I thought I’d take the opportunity to talk about an older card, which hit us back in the Rise of the Realm Runner expansions, that has definitely seen a bump with this latest release. So here’s everyone’s favourite little critter getting his own time in the spotlight at last; Tufter’s Companionship . The main reason this card has piqued my interest with the release of The Monsters of Norso is mainly due to the Achrom faction; almost all of their Characters are Creatures and many have a Shard Value of 4 or more to boot. This means, at its absolute worst, if you only have the Creature you deployed with this card on your Canvas, it would have only cost you a single shard, making it a great way to get the highest Shard Value Characters, like Astar, The Minotaur and Detestatio, The Chimera , out for far less of...

 Hello realmrunners! Well although the new set is having some unexpected delays, I just feel like I have to jump right in with this card as it’s already shaping up to be possibly my favourite card from the set, if not the entire game so far, and that’s before knowing what else is coming! So here's Sigrun, Vitki Elder . Already from the initial read, I knew this card had some real potential. Firstly it breaks the standard rules of Rebound by being able to return any card on either side of the Canvas to it's owners hand; not just your own, then on top of that, you gain shards equal to the Rebound ed card's Shard Value which can be a huge boost, especially if it was a high value card that you can Trade at the end of your turn. Without even going much deeper into any other cards it synergises with, this immediately screams two things; fantastic and flexible card control, since it can Rebound your opponent's cards, and insane value out of a single card.
