Card Highlight - Tufter’s Companionship

 Hello realmrunners and welcome to another card highlight. Before I start to dive in to my custom Palette ideas from all the new cards that came our way in The Monsters of Norso I thought I’d take the opportunity to talk about an older card, which hit us back in the Rise of the Realm Runner expansions, that has definitely seen a bump with this latest release. So here’s everyone’s favourite little critter getting his own time in the spotlight at last; Tufter’s Companionship.

The main reason this card has piqued my interest with the release of The Monsters of Norso is mainly due to the Achrom faction; almost all of their Characters are Creatures and many have a Shard Value of 4 or more to boot.


This means, at its absolute worst, if you only have the Creature you deployed with this card on your Canvas, it would have only cost you a single shard, making it a great way to get the highest Shard Value Characters, like Astar, The Minotaur and Detestatio, The Chimera, out for far less of a cost.
 

However at its best, if you manage to set up a Canvas with multiple Creatures on it, this card will not only add to the number you control but also be a net positive for your shard bank therefore allowing you to play another card straight after, like something that can damage all your Characters with Vengeance such as the already infamous The Abyss or something a little smaller like The Abandoned Axe, Pit Trap or Outrage.


Further to this, if you go down the route of trying to go wide with all your Creatures, you can potentially use the shards you gain from this card to Deploy classic big drain cards like Peorth or the new card Unstoppable Horde or, if you’re planning on damaging your Characters to trigger a Vengeance ability or two, Reckless Onslaught.


With a lot of Creatures now released into the game from Norso, Tufter’s Companionship is definitely a card to keep your eye on when building your own custom Palettes as it can really make a difference in many situations and, with Alliance Headquarters and Gorgon Guide both in the same set as well, it’s not too difficult to set up either, albeit that’s quite costly to jump through all those hoops.

 Hello and welcome realmrunners! As we’re now well into sneak peek season for the up and coming Monsters of Norso the content creators of the community are starting to get our own individual cards to look over. So here’s the first piece I have - just some artwork to get us started off; The Minotaur’s Domain . Along with the artwork I’ve got the following little bit of lore to go with it - “The Minotaur resides here when he isn't out wandering the labyrinth.”  So what we know for sure is that it’s a Location that directly relates to ‘The Minotaur’ whom I suspect features in the set’s cover art. First impression I get from this art is that it’s very dark and misty, so most likely Achrom-leaning if not fully Achrom. It’s also giving me a very similar sort of feel to cards like Murky Manor  or Throne Room from the other realms; a very foreboding and shadowy building that’s most likely to be related to a very dark Character. Dragon Rider Day - The Review

Hello to you all realmrunners! Well last night was a fantastically fun evening with games played, some fun auctioning of graded collectible cards and plenty of players getting the chance to get a whole selection of things signed by some of the team. Everyone who attended got a copy of Dexter Master of Dragons as well as the promo location The Secrets of Spirata and a random pin in the new hex style, which I was lucky enough to snag a Conjurer Otrix!  I personally managed to snag myself graded first edition Countess Issadora Curdle and Darnacusk in the auction and got a copy of Haskus , one of my favourite drake Characters, signed by the artist, Marco!  In the auction we also saw copies of the promo locations;  The Fall of Flutterby ;  The Siege of Draco   Temple ;   and The Curse of Curdle Hill which all got snagged up, with Curdle Hill’s promo going for £35 in the end! Monsters of Norso Sneak Peek - Drengora, The Fierce

 Hello realmrunners - today I'm going to to be taking a deeper delve into a recent reveal from the upcoming set Monsters of Norso; this is Drengora, The Fierce . Along with the art this comes with the flavour line ' The Monsters aren't the only force to be reckoned with in Norso Planum... ' so, whatever faction the Monsters themselves are on (most likely Achrom I'd expect) this will be from a different faction so it's probably quite safe to assume that from the style of the art, along with this bit of text, we can expect that Drengora will be a more Chroma-aligned character, although whether they're mixed or fully Chroma is yet to be seen. What else can we gather from all this though? Well given that it's a named Character they're going to be Heroic for sure and potentially a key one in their faction - whether that be canonically or within the faction's game mechanic is yet to be seen however.
