Heroes Format - A whole new way to play Achroma!

Image
This format brings a whole new approach to Palette-building & how to play Achroma! From the start - instead of the restrictions of Canvas format where you have to make a 30 card Palette with only 1 Legendary and 4 unique Rares - in Heroes you make a 40 card Palette with any number (maximum of 2 copies of each) of cards between Rares, Uncommons and Commons then you’re allowed any number of Legendary cards but only 1 of each. The rule that all cards must be from the same realm does still apply to this format though. Link below will take you to the Formats page of the main site for more details if you want to read more, as well as the full info on how Canvas format works as well; https://www.achroma.cards/formats Ontop of this there’s a slight tweak to the start, set-up & win conditions of the game as well; to begin with you will choose an Avatar from the app (you can scan your legendary cards to unlock them but other cards require you to unlock them via spending shards), that is ...

Spirata Fall Season begins!

Image
Hello there Realm Runners, I hope you’re all doing well! As September has now come to a close, so too does Draco Summer season - With Tenebris’ attack successful and the Dragon Temple now fallen the next question is…. What fate awaits the Fairies and Pixies of the Spirata Planum? That’s where all of us, as players, come in! Once a quarter (every 3 months) is a new season in the world of Achroma and, as with every season, Spirata Fall is kicking off with the Achrometer event!  https://www.achroma.cards/global-achrometer Every win that happens this month will be recorded on the Achrometer as to whether it was a Chroma win (getting your shards to 30) or an Achrom win (draining your opponents to 0) and, at the end of the event, which ever side got the most wins then drives what happens in the story and even has an impact on some of the new cards which come out! So get put there and get fighting for your faction to bring them victory in their story! Along with a new season is com...

Draco Chapter 2 - New Keywords

Image
Good day to all you Realm Runners out there!  This is a relatively short one today going over a quick introduction to the new keywords coming up in the next Draco Planum set - The Last Snow Dragons of Altari - along with a snippet of how it might faire vs current keywords we have access to. Hunt Once per turn you may select a Character on another player’s Canvas. If, at the start of your next turn, both your Character that started the Hunt & the hunted Character are still on their respective canvas’ then you resolve the Hunt effect. Whilst this might seem like a slow mechanic at first glance you need to remember this can potentially be done every  turn. So if a game happens to draw out a bit more to the point where a quick victory isn’t going to happen then you’ll find that Hunt effects will allow you to keep the advantage going as a lot of their abilities, such as on Ogul above, are ‘free’ advantage over time. Whilst this does get countered by keywords such as Claim &...

What is Achroma? - A Beginner’s Guide

Image
A basic introduction to the world of Achroma Achroma is a game for 2-6 players where there are 2 end goals possible - get yourself up to 30 shards or drain all of your opponents down to 0.  What makes it unique among most card games is that what is effectively your life force is also your resource for playing cards; each card in the game has a shard value, shown by the number of filled shards in the hex, currently ranging from 1 to 6, on the front of the card and this tells you how much it costs to play it. Setup The playing field in Achroma is called your Canvas, your deck is your Palette and what most games call the Graveyard, or Discard pile, is referred to as your Dregs. At the start of the game you connect to other players via the free App (downloadable from your mobile app store) and it will pick someone at random to go first. You then all draw 5 cards to make your starting hand and off you go! ‘Standard’ rules in Achroma, known as Canvas format, are that you have a 30...

Introduction to my Achroma blog!

Image
A quick introduction to me, myself and I Hello to all you Realm Runners out there! My name is Antinomy93 , or Craig if you prefer. I’m relatively new to Achroma and so I thought that with my experience with the game so far, alongside my recent win at the Draco Summer Grand Tournament in Poole as well as Draco Planum’s 2nd Chapter just on the horizon, it would be a great time to start using my enthusiasm for the game and help spread it as far and wide as it can possibly go as I’ve always wanted to get involved in the world of content creation! As a player, I generally lean more into the competitive scene, since I love the challenge it brings, however I absolutely love being creative and seeing all the whacky combinations of cards people can come up with, after all diversity just makes everything more fun! What I’ve got planned Following this mentality, I’ll be focusing most of my posts on the competitive aspect of Achroma - What cards are the most powerful and why? What chronicle is st...
