Custom Palette Showcase - Clunker's Recipe for a Steal

Welcome to you all realmrunners!

Given my last article's topic of a fan-favourite Legendary from The Curse of Curdle Hill, today I thought I'd go into a real banger of a Palette utilising mostly cards from that set with a few others in the mix from latter sets that have boosted it somewhat, so without further ado; here's the list.

The main strategy of the Palette is to get to Hex Clunker asap, hence the two actions taking up a couple of rare slots, then grab & recycle Objects to give you the ability to control the state of your opponent's Canvas which will allow you to grind their resources for a win. So let's look at each card individually.

Hex Clunker - The key card to the whole Palette's strategy needs no real introduction. Being able to Find or Dig your Objects plus playing it for free can cause some insane power plays for no real cost.

Boostrap Benji - My little tech choice; whilst being able to get rid of your opponent's Objects, he's also able to Erase your own if your opponent refuses to deal with them themselves so you can re-use any Action abilities of them or put them on a different Character.

Hex Clunker Engineer - Another card that's more in here for its utility; able to grab Cintimani Stone to get back Hex Clunker if necessary, albeit that's a costly use of him, as well as able to Dig an opponent's Object if they have a particularly strong one in their Dregs.

Rabid Dog - Decent Character that can take out almost any others that also plays into Arabella's Recipe's effect well.

Occultist Warlock - Another Character that's only really in here for its synergy with Arabella's Recipe and to be something to load Objects onto.

Road to Ludlam / Cove Caves - Harder to remove sources of Steal that synergise with Arabella's Recipe.

Smuggler's Way - Affords your Hex Clunker some protection from targeting abilities if necessary.

Achrom Converter - Given the inability to play Fireball due to the choice of Kaunan, this card gives you a great synergisitic source of removal that's only real flaw is that it can't hit purely achrom cards.

Cintimani Stone - It's an Object focused Palette.... of course this has to be in there.

Alchemist's Tincture - Object that enables you to potentially surprise your opponent with a Cintimani Stone or Mandrake drop in their turn through its Dispose ability.

Corrupted Muon Trap - One of the best cards in Salum and it happens to be an Object... it was meant to be.

Hex Clunker Parts - Potential free drop that is a Gain 3 every turn, can't really not play it.

Mandrake - Object that turns any Character into a threat in combat, also conveniently adds to Arrabella's Recipe's effect.

Isaz / Kaunan - Runes to get to Hex Clunker asap, due to the card line-up there is no other card they'll hit.

Arabella's Recipe - Gives you access to a surprise Steal card which can either fuel your more expensive plays or finish your opponent off.

Hostile Takeover - A great card from Salum that not only deals with troublesome Locations but lets you use them instead.

Replenishment - A deck thinner that grabs Alchemist's Tincture and Arabella's Recipe so can set you up for some explosive plays later on at times.

Some other cards you can consider are;

Kelby Knotner, First Mate - Although they interrupt Kaunan's ability in finding Hex Clunker, this Character can be a real powerhouse that's difficult to remove for your opponent with their combination of both Divert and Protection it can also protect Hex Clunker from a fair chunk of removal as well.

The Curse of Curdle Hill / A Conjuring at Curdle Cove - If you have them these can replace Road to Ludlam & Cove Caves for stronger cards that still synergise with the same cards and don't interfere with the runes.

The Veil Chaser's Nest - Another way of getting to Hex Clunker sooner, however you'd have to either limit or completely cut all other Locations to make this consistent and it would result in it costing you 8 shards to essentially deploy.

Vial of Quintessence - A repeatable form of Gain, if you have Hex Clunker in play, that can see you jump towards 30 shards sooner.

There’s so many different directions you can take this style of Salum Palette - What are you guys cooking up with Hex Clunker at the helm?

That's all from me for now guys - if you want to pick up any of the product currently available on the Achroma website, don't forget to use the code ACHROMACRAIG10 when you checkout for 10% off your purchase!
