Achroma in 2026 - A speculative dive into what's to come!
Hello realmrunners, season's greetings and all the rest for this time of year!
Today, in the spirit of all things reflective and thoughtful, I thought I'd share my thoughts on the upcoming events in the world of Achroma. So to start us off here's the release timeline shared at the event at the end of last month;
We've finally seen the release of the final Chronicle to round out the 2nd chapters with The Monsters of Norso, along with Chapter 1 products mostly being condensed into the Booster product. This as well as a refresh and update to the companion app and a more structure regular play system which has definitely been needed for a fair amount of time, I think we can all agree on that! So what's next now all this is in place? Some new side-products it would seem!
Breaking away from the standard Chapters and Chronicles, we have a few upcoming products for next year. Starting off with Sprat's Fairy Painters; a new introductory set which, judging from the artwork we've already seen, will feature a new version of both Sprat Marail and Spiral Traitorius among several other new cards for the Spirata realm.

Then we have HAIM Initiative; a rather mysterious set that, given the lore behind HAIM as an organisation, it's safe to assume will give us more realmless support; somewhat akin to The Rise of the Realm Runners expansions we saw at the end of the first run of Chapters. These are both accompanied by a round-up of the second Chapter of sets as well.
Further to this, as we go into Summer next year, we have the Voyage of the Veil Chaser; whilst nothing is known or even confirmed about this set the name suggests it is something that will support Salum to some degree as The Veil Chaser and it's related cards were originally featured in A Conjuring at Curdle Cove so excited to see that given that Salum is debatably my favourite realm to play (although that margin gets slimmer with every other set release if I'm honest!).

All of this is coming at us ahead of the beginning of Chapter 3, but what will that bring us? Are we going to see even more Keywords and unique abilities coming from them? Greater support for older Keywords so, rather than introducing brand new ideas, we can look to build on older ones and possibly see a bit of power creep happening on the competitive scene? Who's to say the pattern will stay the same either; maybe we'll see the order of the realm's releases mixed up?
On top of this the, with the seasonal game system that's now been introduced that brings with it special promos and easier rewards that utilise the boosters, we will hopefully see more and more stores picking it up to expand the game further and get to some of you that are further from Poole so you're not all having to use your camera set-ups or trek most of the country just to get some games in.
All-in-all it looks to be an exciting year for Achroma ahead, after a fair amount of quiet time it's evident there has a been a lot behind the scenes that will hopefully now look to pay off and really get the ball rolling. But there's one question I think I still have for what's to come for the game... When can I get my Last Snow Dragons of Altari playmat?!
That's all from me for now guys - if you want to pick up any of the Achroma product currently available on the Five Realms website, don't forget to use the code ACHROMACRAIG10 when you checkout for 10% off your purchase! Don’t forget to grab yourself some of the new set, The Monsters of Norso, to get your hands on this fantastic card!
